THE near DEATH AND RE BIRTH
OF A
1979 HUNTER 37 CHERUBINI CUTTER
This is my 9ft inflatable. I know, it is PVC and not Hypalon, however I can buy 3 of these for the price of one hypalon. As far as PVC goes, It is the thicker one, has aluminum floors and overall is very well constructed. I have added a bow storage bag and a seat bag. I also have a set of stainless transom wheels to help in moving the boat and not having to drag it. My Mercury 3.5 hp motor is perfect for putting around and at 37 pounds is easy to lift into the rail. I also have a 9.9 hp to be used when in a hurry.
Found a new Mercury 3.5 two stroke with 0 hours on it. Put fresh gas in it and it started at 2nd pull. It is great to have as it is only 35# in weight, however it is just good enough to get to the boat and back. I have found a 9.9 with a 15hp carb that goes like a bat out of hell to use on the Waccamaw river. It is 90# and too much for me to lift. I did make a motor davit to lift the motor on board and it works like a charm.
I looked at it for a while as I knew it would never again fit in that box or bag.
Max inspecting the floor boards and seat. No plywood here.
Since it was a rainy week, decided to order a pint of two part Weaver 3001 adhesive for PVC for the installation of the D rings on the dinghy. Had to be able to secure the lifting harness to the dinghy and I had purchased two 8" orange patches with stainless D rings to be glued to the dinghy. Nothing very hard and perfect for Jeff to do. I found him a fiberglass boot in my MX bag for his cast and he gets around better. It even has a pump in it to make it fit better to the cast. The hobbling around in crutches was getting old and he has taken to this boot.
Followed directions and presto.
